Arizona College Access Aid Program (ACAAP)

 

Description:

 

Money Present PictureThe Arizona College Access Aid Program (ACAAP) is designed to assist sophomore, junior or senior college students who have substantial financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Students must be seeking an associate or baccalaureate degree at any regionally or nationally accredited institution.  Funds are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of application completion.  Maximum award is $2,000.  Funds can be applied toward any educational expense documented in the student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) at the institution.  

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of Arizona for at least the previous 12 months at the time of application completion.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or an eligible noncitizen.
  • Must be a sophomore, junior or senior college student. 
  • Must demonstrate substantial financial need (have the federal Pell Grant) as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Must be enrolled at least half-time in a regionally or nationally accredited postsecondary institution.
  • Must be seeking an Associate or Baccalaureate degree.
  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress as determined by the institution

Program Details:

  • ACAAP is being administered in conjunction with SLEAP.  Students may apply for both the ACAAP and SLEAP programs, but due to funding limitations a student will only receive funds from one program. 
  • Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year.  The ACPE will automatically receive a copy of the FAFSA once it is processed by the US Department of Education.
  • Students must reapply each year for the grants as they are not automatically renewable.
